TITLE: SPECIAL EDUCATION DATA AND IEP COORDINATOR
QUALIFICATIONS
- A valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement preferred.
- A Master’s Degree preferred
- At least 10 years of successful teaching in the areas of special education or related services
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability and initiative to plan, organize and implement programs related to special education
- Experience in educational applications related to computers and assistive technology
- Expertise in computer language used in special education programs
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Develops, coordinates, appraises, and revises the special education computer programs and manages the assistive devices
- Maintains expanded rosters, IEP rosters, evaluation rosters and keeps daily reports needed to meet guidelines
- Manages all components of SER, JCampus, and Insight
- Manages Child Count and MFP
- Designs calendars, spread sheets, and data markers for all SPED classes and programs
- Participates in local and state conferences and workshops, and disseminates information to district personnel
- Keeps informed of national, state, and local laws, and regulations related to SPED and technology use
- Manages inventory of all assistive technology
- Provides direct assistance to teachers and students related to SPED programs, computer programs and software, and curriculum
- Secures information on grants available for SPED
- Tracks students that enroll with IEPs and when they leave the district transfer records to new schools
- Design hand-outs, data sheets, information markers, etc for special education teachers
- Meets criteria for a Professional Growth Plan and follows the guidelines in the Parish Program of Professional Evaluation
- Assumes additional responsibilities assigned by the Director SPED
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 months
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluation in accordance with Board Policy
